Tzu Chi University

Tzu Chi University is dedicated to the core philosophy of "deeply cultivating a sustainable campus and implementing university social responsibility (USR)." We are committed to integrating sustainable development into every aspect of the campus. We actively promote green campus initiatives, encourage faculty and students to participate in actions that advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and incorporate sustainable development concepts into teaching and research.

Following the merger and transformation with Tzu Chi University of Science and Technology in 2024, the new Tzu Chi University has even more actively promoted USR through "learning by doing" innovative teaching. We have implemented four USR projects and eight USR-Hub projects. Among these, the "Satoyama Solidarity Carbon Economy – Local Practice Plan for Sustainable Consumption and Production" received the Model Award in the Ecosystem Co-prosperity category at the 5th Vision USR University Social Responsibility Awards in 2024. The new Tzu Chi University further combines the strengths of higher education and vocational training, integrating academic knowledge with practical application. Through USR projects, we combine professional skills with hands-on practice and project-oriented innovative teaching to solve real-world social problems. We also evaluate and disclose the effectiveness of our SDG implementation efforts using the United Nations Sustainable Development Impact Standards. Furthermore, we invite corporate ESG involvement to foster co-prosperity and co-creation, sharing sustainable development achievements through customized projects for businesses.

We firmly believe that through the collective efforts of all faculty and students, we can continue to contribute to the progress and development of society.
