Taichung has a pleasant climate, and it’s a pivotal city in central Taiwan with a vision of “Sustainable Happiness, Prosperous Taichung”, incorporating sustainable development into its policies to promote economic, social, and environmental well-being. After taking office, Mayor Lu released the “Sustainable Net-Zero Trilogy”, the first part is "Signing the Climate Emergency Declaration in 2021", the second part is“Releasing the Taichung City Voluntary Local Review in 2021”, and the third part is “Releasing the 2050 Taichung City Net Zero Carbon Emission Pathway in 2022”. Additionally, set up the "Taichung City Sustainable Net-Zero Autonomy Regulations" draft and the Chief Sustainability Officer. Taichung City released VLR 2.0 in 2023. VLR 3.0 will be released in 2025. Continue to integrate with international standards and build Taichung into a happy and sustainable city.
